WIGAN FLASHES SITE LISTS

 

The Wigan Flashes consists of Scotsman, Pearson's, Horrock's, Turner's, Westwood and Ochre Flashes, Bryn Marsh and the Ince Landfill area.

178- Dave Broome

Undoubtedly this site's 'list champ' and perhaps unlikely to be beaten (pull your fingers out Woosey and Hargreaves!) his mighty list includes many terrific county birds (see his garden list for the exact details) but one of his favourites doesn't feature in his total, as the Chilean Flamingo on Pearson's Flash in 1993 has wandered from Haigh Zoo.

142- Rob Thorpe

Having visited the site since an early age Rob has only seriously started covering it since 2007 or so and his best birds thus far are Cattle Egret (self-found), Green-winged Teal, Osprey, Smew and Iceland Gull. added Little Gull, 14.08.10

120- Craig Higson

Craig has unfortunately recorded no major blocker on the flashes infact he admits to have many more omissions than he really ought to!

116- Geoff Hargreaves

Flashes 'ever present', Geoff still requires some more easily obtainable site ticks although the Avocets he missed don't fall into that category (and the memory of missing them still haunts him!) but his best birds include Smew and Grey Plover (both self found), Cattle Egret and Glaucous Gull, although the latter is all the more enjoyable as Ian Woosey missed it!
