LIGHT HAZZLES RESERVOIR This site guide is taken from the previous county birding website and was written by Judith Smith, but requires a more detailed up-to-date version, so I would invite any local birder with good knowledge of the site to write or assist in the writing of such a guide. Twite feeding stations are run here and at nearby White Holme Resr, by United Utilities. Access: from the White House pub on the A58 east from Littleborough (stands by itself on the moorlands, free parking), walk N along Pennine Way (practically flat) past Blackstone Edge Resr, about 1 mile to Light Hazzles Resr, which is little more than a ditch, passing sign to White Holme Resr just before reaching it. Feeding station is on a concrete strip between this reservoir and Warland Reservoir adjoining. Hundred of Twite have been colour ringed here and at Cant Clough Reservoir in Burnley and there is interchange between the two sites. Also often a few Snow Buntings in the flock. Other species: Peregrine, Raven, Goldeneye.
