HAIGH
COUNTRY PARK SITE LISTS

Click the above thumbnail to view the Haigh CP recording
boundary.
Haigh Country Park, situated just north of Wigan, has recorded
a few county rarities within it's well wooded boundaries most notably Wryneck
(upto 3 individuals apparently), Puffin (!), Bee-eater, Turtle Dove, Red Kite and Bluethroat, it used to also fairly regularly
record Lesser Spotted Woodpecker amongst it's woodland species.
The above map (click on the thumbnail to view in
full) outlines the entire site recording area and is thanks to Ian Woosey.

Tom Morton |
Tom Haigh site list includes some very impressive
county species indeed, one of which no other county birder is likely to have on
any GM lists! His best are Pied Flycatcher, Waxwing, Spoonbill and quite
remarkably...Puffin!
