HAIGH COUNTRY PARK SITE LISTS

Haigh Country Park, situated just north of Wigan, has recorded a few county rarities within it's well wooded boundaries most notably Wryneck (upto 3 individuals apparently) and Bluethroat, it used to also fairly regularly record Lesser Spotted Woodpecker amongst it's woodland species.

89- Ian Woosey

Literally on Ian's doorstep this is his true 'local patch' which he has been visiting since childhood (which is an awful long time!). Having started his site list in 2004 he has already recorded such good site species as Hobby, Waxwing, Mandarin Duck, Little Grebe, Woodcock, Grasshopper Warbler, Raven and Tree Sparrow and now has his sights firmly set on finding Wood Warbler, Spotted Flycatcher and Lesser Spotted Woodpecker to add to that list.

Although there's nothing too unexpected on Dave's list (as yet), it does include Yellow Wagtail, Brambling and Tree Sparrow.
