DOVESTONES RESERVOIR AND SURROUNDING AREA

This site guide is taken from the previous county birding website and was written by Judith Smith, but requires a more detailed up-to-date version, so I would invite any local birder with good knowledge of the site to write or assist in the writing of such a guide.

A high-altitude site with relatively easy access and opportunities to see moorland species such as Ring Ouzel, Peregrine, Raven, as well as breeding Stonechat, Whinchat, Wheatear, Dipper, Common Sandpiper. Possibility of Redstart and Crossbill.
Access from A635; look for sign on right having passed through Greenfield. Park at bottom of dam; easy uphill paths in several directions. Toilets at Peak District NP office. Limited access for disabled
