DAVENPORT GREEN

 

A 2km square of open land between Well Green to the west and Newall Green to the east. Grid Ref - SJ800870. The site includes farmland, grassland, woodland and garden habitats but lacks any large open water.

Starting birding the area in 2002, Henry's best birds so far on the site are Little Egret, Common Redpoll, Green Sandpiper, Goosander, Whinchat, Jack Snipe, Yellow Wagtail and Yellowhammer.
