These maps below represent all the records submitted to the BTO (Atlas and BirdTrack) for the winters 2007-08 and 2008-09. The winter period is defined as 1^st November to 28^th February.

The maps were generated by Steve Atkins on MapMate ©, using data supplied to the GMBRG by the BTO.  We would like to thank the BTO and all the observers who submitted their records to the BTO in the first place.

We still need your help to complete the winter distribution maps for the national Bird Atlas 2007-11, and all records submitted (providing they specify the tetrad / 2km square) will be used to generate winter maps for Greater Manchester as well. So, if you have not already done so, please register and submit your records on line at www.bto.org/birdatlas/index.htm . If you have records from the last two winters (01.11 to 28.02) which will help fill in the gaps, it's not too late to submit them. We only need one record per species, from each tetrad, to produce the maps, so you don’t need to spend a lot of time entering records on-line. Recording for the 3rd winter runs from 01.11.09 to 28.02.10
