ASTLEY MOSS SITE LISTS
The Astley Moss recording area boundary encompasses such diverse habitats as an ancient peat moss, arable farmland, horse pasture, birch woodland and a effluent treatment works, although unfortunately the magnificent Tyldesley Sewage Works settling beds of old are long gone. It does however include the excellent Rindle Road and it's feeding station. The recording area follows the Leeds-Liverpool canal as it's northern boundary and the old mineral line running from Nook Lane to the railway line to it's west. It's southern boundary is designated by the railway line itself and it's western end the western edge of Bedford Moss (but not including Windy Bank) up to the East Lancs Road until it goes over the canal.
