WAXWING

The record county flock of Waxwings remains the 510 in a pre-roost assembly in trees near the M63 in Stockport on the 8th March 1996. Birds were also using the roof of the nearby Poundstretcher supermarket to drink from pooled water there but the true figure of this huge assembly is likely to have been in the 6-700 region!
