SHORELARK

There are 3 Shorelark records for Greater Manchester, involving 5 individuals.

Despite the first county record of this species being publicised as occurring in 1990, there are infact 2 records that predate this Adswood Tip bird. The very first record was infact at Pennington Flash and although the record was not published at the time of the sighting the record was substantiated after lengthy discussions with the observer by David Wilson, ex County Bird Recorder, Leigh Ornithological Society Recorder and Pennington Flash guru (and author of it's only seminal publication). A full account of the Adswood Tip bird, then believed to be the first county record of Shorelark can be read here.
