SAND MARTIN

The largest flock of this species ever encountered in the county was 5000 birds at Pennington Flash on the 22nd August 1981.

A Sand Martin trapped and ringed at Sinderland ETW, Altringham on the 6th June 1989 was rewrapped at Dodo, Flue, Senegal on the 11th March 1991.
