RICHARD'S PIPIT

Records of Richard's Pipits in the county fall, expectedly, within the main arrival period for the species in the UK and Europe, those within late September to mid-November. Two records fall outside this period though and the April 1983 record may well indicate an individual which had over-wintered in the country (perhaps even in the county) and the late November to mid-December 2001 record indicate an individual which was intending to do so, as is the increasing trend of late in the UK.
