COMMON POCHARD

The largest flock of Pochard recorded in Greater Manchester was 2500 birds at Salford Quays in January 1997.

A blue nasal saddled bird was observed at Clegg Pools on the 24th September 2006, having been trapped and ringed/saddled at St.Philbert de Grand Lieu (Lac de Grand Lieu), France on the 8th January 1995 as an adult.
