PEREGRINE FALCON

 

Peregrines are firmly established as a breeding county species but the more notable occasions are listed below.

1993   Agecroft Power Station   A pair bred successfully on power station and 2 fledged young were seen. This was the first time Peregrines bred on a man made structure in county
2004       Confirmed breeding at 4 county sites in this year with 11 fledged young being the best ever breeding result in county
2006   Manchester City Centre   Bred in the city centre for the first time and 4 young hatched on about the 30th Apr and were reared and fledged although one of these was found dead (as a leg only with ring attached) at Dovestones on 23rd September 2006
