KNOT

The largest flock of this species in the county involved 25 birds heading westwards through Pennington Flash on the 7th August 1960.

The longest ever staying Knot in the county was at Audenshaw Reservoirs in 2006 with the bird staying 10 days from the 11th to the 21st February.

During September 1999 a Knot was found on No.2 bed at Audenshaw Reservoirs, unfortunately all that remained of the bird was a wing and a leg!
