GREY PARTRIDGE
Although released birds for shooting purposes cloud the current situation, the largest covey ever recorded in the county was of 52 birds at Millgate Fields, Didsbury on the 18th January 1985.
Odd records include a pair that bred successfully in a grave in Southern Cemetery in 1979 and 2 birds seen on derelict land in Cheetham Hill, almost in Manchester City Centre on the 23rd May 1983.
