There have been 7 records of Eider in the county, involving some 11 individuals.

The largest single group involved 3 female/immatures on the 6th November 1982 at Ashworth Moor Reservoir.

1982   Ashworth Moor Reservoir 6th Nov 3 females/immatures, and one on the next day, during a spell of moderate south-easterly winds
1982   Scotman's Flash 19th-21st Dec Female, following north-westerly gales
1983   Audenshaw Reservoirs 14th Nov Two immature drakes, with one staying the following day
1993   Audenshaw Reservoirs 31st Oct-4th Nov 2 immature birds, male and female
1993   Castleshaw Reservoirs 7-14th Nov Female
1994   Atherton 30th Sept Female found in a garden, released on the Alt Estuary 1st October
