EURASIAN CURLEW

The largest recorded flock of Curlew recorded in Greater Manchester was of 105 birds on Ludworth Moor on the 13th March 1994, a traditional resting location for the species on it's way back to the moorland breeding grounds. A larger count of 200 birds on the 26th June 1978 only refers to a 'lowland site'.
